Who Is Thomas Edision?

From scientists, to researchers, to mathematicians, history shows that the world has witnessed individuals who chose to rise and leave their foot prints as symbols of inspiration and courage; a rocky path carved of dedication, hard- work, and effort which eventually lead to long-term success.

  1. Born on February 11, 1847, in Milan, Ohio
  2. The humble beginner known as Edison decided to go forth and become an inventor of great technology.
  3. Edison and his family moved to Port Huron located in Michigan where he attended public school for approximately 12 weeks.
  4. He was known to be a hyperactive child because of his lack of attention which made many teachers label him as a "challenge."
  5. Considering his great success, Thomas then married his first wife Mary Stilwell, a 1 6 year old, at the age of 40. Sadly, Mary died at the age of 29 due to a suspected brain tumor.

Interesting Facts!

He was the last of seven children from Nancy and Samuel Edison; where Nancy was an accomplished school teacher and Samuel an exiled political activist from Canada.

His mother realised that the best option of schooling for Edison was at home.

Edison coped with being independent towards self- education and this has became a dominant factor which made him become who he is known as today.
