What is DVT?

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a very common disease. Deep vein thrombosis is serious condition that occurs when a blood clot is formed in any of the deep, large veins inside the body. Blood clot is a clump in blood that forms in a semisolid state.  It is mostly occurred in the thigh or lower leg or the pelvis. DVT can develop if a patient has certain medical condition that may have an affect on the blood flow. DVT is a highly dangerous complication that results in more deaths each year than breast cancer, AIDS and transport accidents combined, if not treated.
