Abuse is any behavior or actions that are used to gain, and/or maintain power, or control over another person.
This website will teach you about abuse. What the types of abuse are, what are signs to watch out for, who abuse can happen to, and where you can go for help!
Stated by the Government of Canada Abuse is:
"Punishable by Law and can be defined as physical violence, such as physical or sexual assault; and ANY intentional physical contact that causes injury. "
Each of the following forms is considered abuse:
- Degrading or humiliating behavior
- False accusations meant to scare or intimidate you
- Verbal assault
- Verbal mocking
Abuse is never the fault of the victim.
