Challenges of Parenting

Majority of parents want nothing but the best for their children, but this can be difficult at times. Frustration, stress, and anxiety are just some of the feelings that come to mind when thinking about some of the challenges of parenting.

Stressed Mother

Some common challenges expressed by parents include:

1st Challenge:

Stress from life events for both parents and children (i.e.: death, new child, job, school, etc.)

2nd Challenge:

Adjusting parenting approaches to match the dynamic of their own family.

3rd Challenge:

Building and maintaining a stable and consistent parent-child relationship with minimal power stuggles.

4th Challenge:
Keeping up with the ever changing trends and dynamics of children raised in the 21st century.

At times, the parenting style and temperament of the children clash. Children begin to rebel against parents because they feel overwhelmed. With every new stage in a child’s life, comes new challenges; this can also be said for parents. How caregivers decide to deal with these challenges is the deciding factor in how they feel as a parent, and how their children feel in their presence.
