Introduction to Pollution

Pollution is the overview of impurities into a natural environment that causes instability, sickness, harm or discomfort to the environment i.e. physical systems or living organisms. Pollution can take the form of organic substances or energy, such as noise, heat, or light. Pollutants, the components of pollution, can be foreign ingredients or energies, or naturally occurring; when naturally occurring, they are considered contaminants when they exceed natural levels. Pollution is often classified as point cause or nonpoint source pollution.
