Introduction
Smoking is a habit that many people start
without realizing how harmful it can be in the long run. Some begin
out of curiosity, while others smoke because of peer pressure or
stress (Northwest Territories Department of Health and Social
Services et al., 2009).
However, smoking is highly addictive, making
it hard to quit once it becomes a habit. It not only harms the
smoker but also affects their family, friends and even society. By
understanding how smoking affects health, the economy, and
relationships and learning about ways to quit, people can make
healthier choices for themselves and those around them.
