The Evolution of Space Exploration and Its Lasting Impact on Modern Society
Introduction
Space and its stars have been a question only time has begun to unfold.
Numerous people have looked up and asked: What is up there? However,
only a small percentage of people have discovered a part of that answer.
A combination of decades-long debate, technological and scientific
advancement, political competition, and changes in popular opinion about
spaceflight generated public policy in favour of an aggressive program
in the 1950s (Cohen & Spector, 2019, p. 15), specifically between the
U.S. and the former Soviet Union. Sprouting from this feud and research
decades later has led to further knowledge of space and its working
components and has tested the limits of people's minds and reality up to
today's generations. This research paper will examine the history of the
U.S. space race, its ever-expanding modern-day technological
advancements and its impact on Earth's environmental future.
