Introduction
The greenhouse effect is the natural process that keeps the temperature of the Earth suitable to support life on the planet. The atmosphere has many gases which trap the heat of sunlight and do not let it escape. The greenhouse gases keep the temperature of the Earth moderate and not extreme.
The greenhouse effect is named after the structure of a greenhouse. Essentially a glasshouse, a greenhouse is a place designed to grow plants. The glass allows the sunlight to come inside but heat does not go outside.
