Exam Policies and Rules

Make sure you've read over Assignment & Exam Policies!

Important!
All students with ALS Accommodations for exams must inform/request accommodations one week prior to exam date. This assumes you've had your meeting with me at the start of term (virtual or in person) to discuss your ALS profile. If you have not met with me or do not request your accommodations one week prior to the exam, it is assumed you are not using any of your accommodations.

If your accommodation requires use of the testing center on campus, you must book your space one week prior to your exam. Make sure I'm cc'd or sent a copy of the confirmation or it is assumed you are writing in the regularly scheduled classroom at the regularly scheduled time.

Important!
All exams are in-person and written ON PAPER: no computers or devices are permitted or required. You are permitted the use of a reference sheet during this exam: this sheet must follow the Exam Reference Sheet Guidelines or you will not be permitted to use it.

Plan ahead!! Make sure you don't sleep in, as that is not a valid reason for missing a test. Make sure you leave for school earlier than normal in case you encounter transportation problems on the way (i.e traffic jam, broken-down bus, etc). If you drive, make sure you have a bus schedule - if your car won't work when you leave for school, you'll have the time and resources to take the bus, instead.

Exam Procedure

The exam begins on the hour. You will be given 2 hours to write the exam, no exceptions (ALS students with time accommdation must book in the assessment center and notify me 1 week prior to the exam date/time).

Seating is assigned: when you enter the room, leave all belongings at the front of the room. This includes jackets/coats, smart watches, phones, head phones, and all other devices. Then locate your seat.

Each available seat has a paper on the desk - look for the paper with YOUR NAME. If there is someone else's name on the paper, that is NOT your seat.

Do not touch the papers on the desk until you are told the exam has begun.

Place your physical oneCard on the desk. The professor will come around after the exam has begun and check your ID.

During the exam, if you have any questions, stay seated and raise your hand.

Once you have completed your exam, stay seated and raise your hand. Once your exam has been collected, you may leave quietly with your belongings.
