Effects
of the Greenhouse Effect
Climate change has a profound impact of rising temperatures. Global warming is the increase in global average temperature over time. Global warming can trigger life-threatening conditions and deaths from heat waves, scientists warn. Research findings indicate that a 4°C temperature rise may greatly elevate heat wave frequency and intensity in the Asian summer monsoon region by the end of this century. By similar model-based projections, 2°C temperature rise is likely to increase both the intensity as well as the frequency of heatwaves in northern India.
| Effects of Climate Chang | |
| Effect | Explanation |
| Global warming & Heat Waves | Climate change leads to a rise in global temperatures over time. This increases the frequency and intensity of heat waves, which can cause serious health risks and even death |
| Melting Ice Caps & Sea Level Rise | Higher temperatures cause glaciers and Arctic ice to melt, resulting in rising sea levels that threaten coastal areas with flooding and erosion. |
| Impact on Living Organisms | Changes in temperature and rainfall force species to migrate. Those unable to adapt or relocate may face extinction. |
| Global Responsibility | Climate change impacts are felt most in developing countries, even though developed nations contribute more to the problem, raising issues of fairness and responsibility. |
| Changing Weather Patterns | Climate change alters natural weather systems, leading to more intense rainfall, stronger storms, and increased cyclone activity in some regions. |
As the temperature and precipitation are changing on land, animals and plants will move from one place to another. They may become extinct if they can’t move quickly. In addition, diseases that were once manageable will now become a genuine cause for concern. With the global rise in temperature, pathogens have spread from one location to another with greater ease. Due to the slow increase in temperature, for example, mosquitos can now linger longer in locations. Thus, diseases like malaria, dengue, chikungunya and others will spread
To sum up, not just the environment but other things also get affected due to greenhouse effect. It is putting global stability, security, and fairness at risk. The nations suffering the most from climate change are the least responsible for it. Nonetheless, it is mainly the developed nations that are responsible. As a result, the developed world must take the lead in solving this issue.
