Climate change

Causes

The burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas contributes to climate change. These activities emit CO₂ and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, trapping heat and causing global warming (Taylor, 2021). Industrial activities have led to unparalleled concentrations of CO₂ throughout human history (Jones, 2019). Deforestation affects climate change by lowering the quantity of trees that absorb CO₂ from the air. Forest clearance for agriculture, urbanization, and industrial growth reduces carbon sequestration capacity, worsening the greenhouse impact (Williams, 2020). Natural variables include earthquakes and UV fluctuations, but these are irrelevant to climate trends as scientific research evidence that human-caused activities are the reason for the temperature rise at a very fast pace, (Green & Patel, 2020).
