Causes of Depression
While there are there can be many different causes of depression, some of the most common are:
- Abuse: Whether this may be physical abuse, mental abuse or emotional abuse. These can all play a factor in how vulnerable you are to being diagnosed with depression in the future.
- Age: While there is certainly no set age limit for depression, study show that elderly people are typically more at risk than younger people.
- Genes: It could be possible some forms of depression could be passed down from previous family members. Study's have proven that people with family members who have been diagnosed, are at a much higher risk then people who have no history of depression in their family.
- Substance Abuse: Abusing drugs such alcohol, marijuana, and tobacco are shown to have a serious effect on your mental health which could lead to symptoms that lead to anxiety and depression.
- Death of Loved One: The death of a loved one is the most challenging experiences to go through in life. This sadly can have an huge impact on your mental health along with your physical health.
