Prevention

There are two types of preventative measures:

1.  Preventive pharmaco-logic methods like vaccinations or
2. Antibiotic prophylaxis, as well as non-pharmacologic therapies like behaviour modification or tick-targeted tactics.

Both categories received information, but there was not time to go over every possible or available strategy. There were two talks about prospects for vaccine development in the future and present. The function and efficacy of behaviour modification were covered in one presentation, while vector-control techniques were covered in another.
 
There aren't any human tick-borne illness vaccinations approved in the US at the moment.

Examining analogous creatures in veterinary species, such cattle, can teach us a lot about human immunology, pathology, and the creation of vaccines against infections carried by ticks.
