Prevention of Cancer

The prevention of cancer entails measures that maintain the avoidance of cancer. Though prevention of all cancers is not possible, healthy lifestyle choices can prevent many cases. Prevention aims at minimizing risk exposures and enhancing general health.

Avoiding smoking and use of tobacco is one of the most crucial methods of preventing cancer because it is one of the primary causes of numerous cancers. Risk can also be reduced by eating a healthy diet which consists of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Exercise also keeps the body weight healthy as well as minimizes the risk of some cancers. Restricting the amount of alcohol, being careful about the damaging sunlight, and being cautious of risky chemicals are some valuable preventive steps as well. Moreover, vaccination against some types of cancer can be prevented by vaccination against infections like hepatitis B and HPV. Early screening tests and regular health check-ups are also necessary to prevent and detect.
