When a loved one is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s it takes a significant toll on everyone around the person, especially immediate family of the person. The diagnosis brings a sudden sense of shock and denial because you never know how things may turn out. Many struggles with accepting the diagnosis at first and live in denial for a while before coming to terms. They hold on to hope that the doctors may be wrong or that the condition may not worsen.
