Practice Safe Sex
Always use condoms (male or female) during vaginal, anal, and oral
sex.
Use water- or silicone-based lubricants to prevent condom breakage.
Get tested regularly for HIV and other STIs — they can increase the
risk of HIV transmission.
Get Tested & Know Your Status
Everyone should get tested at least once; people at higher risk
should test more often.
If you’re HIV-positive, early diagnosis and starting treatment (ART)
keeps you healthy and prevents spreading the virus to others.
Use Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)
PrEP is a daily pill for HIV-negative people who are at high risk.
It lowers the risk of getting HIV by 99% through sex and 74% through
drug use.
