Social Impacts
Smoking
and vaping behaviors are strongly influenced by social factors such as
peer pressure, advertising, and media exposure. Vaping has become
increasingly normalized, especially among young people.
Many youth believe vaping is less harmful, which encourages experimentation and regular use. Early exposure to nicotine increases the likelihood of long-term dependence and future smoking behavior.
Second-hand exposure is also a concern. Vaping releases aerosol into the air that may contain nicotine, metals, and other harmful substances. In indoor environments, this exposure can affect non-users, particularly children and adolescents.
