What Causes Climate Change?

Human Activities Are The Main Cause

Climate change is mostly caused by human activities that release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. These gases trap heat and make the Earth warmer.

Humans are responsible for global warming

Climate scientists have showed that humans are responsible for virtually all global heating over the last 200 years. Human activities like the ones mentioned above are causing greenhouse gases that are warming the world faster than at any time in at least the last two thousand years.

Burning fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas is the biggest cause. Transportation, electricity production, and factories all burn fossil fuels.

Main Causes of Climate Change

Shockin Fact: Humans have increased CO2 levels by 50% since the Industrial Revolution. Current levels are the highest in 800,000 years.

Natural Causes (Smaller Impact)

Natural causes alone would actually cool the Earth. Human causes are why we are warming.
