Fitness and Exercises

Wellness begins with movement

Importance of fitness

Physical Health Benefits

Fitness is important in maintaining and advancing physical health. Regular exercises enhance muscle strength, and strengthen the body's immune system. Hoeger & Hoeger (2013) say that routines of fitness promote endurance and metabolic efficiency for general well-being. Sun, Wang, & Chen, 2022 compare bodybuilding and fitness exercises with respect to their effects on physical fitness; strength and endurance training enhance the muscular activity and can for a while delay the biological aging process at least in certain respects.

Disease Prevention

Physical activity has been associated with lower risk for chronic diseases, including diabetes, obesity and hypertension. Pate, Oria, & Pillsbury, 2012 argue that stages of physical activity started early in life trickle into later years, hence making early introductions of exercising in childhood even more imperative. The Washington Post explained in 2018 that those active people who were exercising frequently would reduce their risks from these chronic diseases to a minimum because the exercises play the major role of keeping away these diseases and other health conditions by being preventive.

Longevity/Quality of Life

It has been identified that regular exercisers tend to have healthier lives. Physical activity tends to promote productivity along with well-being, eventually increasing efficiency in respective daily life activities, which was said by Sharifzadeh, 2013. Hoeger & Hoeger, 2013, have also said that through regular exercise an individual can have increased mobility, independence, and quality of life throughout their aging years
