Impact on Environment

The biosphere is affected by the effects of climate change, which cause significant disruptions to biological processes and reshaping of ecosystems. The loss of biodiversity is one of the most obvious effects of climate change since species find it difficult to adapt to the quickly changing climate conditions. Ecosystems, ranging from frozen tundra to tropical rainforests, are experiencing significant change due to variations in precipitation and temperature.

These alterations jeopardize not just the existence of individual species but also the complex web of ecological relationships that keep the life of Earth alive. For instance, there is a growing asymmetry in the timing of seasonal events like migration and flowering, which interferes with vital ecological functions like seed dispersal and pollinations.

Statistics of Causes for Climate Change

Cause

Statistics

Green House Gas Emissions

In 2019, Global Co2 emission reached at 36.2 billion metric tons.

Deforestation Rates

Every Year, more than 10 million hectors of forest areas are demoslishing for various uses.

Transportation Sectors

Near about 24% of global energy related emission was recorded in 2019 by IEA(International Energy Agency).

Industrial Activities

Industrial process has the major role for the emission of CO2, methane and nitrous oxide.

Furthermore, because of their disproportionately large roles in maintaining the stability of ecosystems, keystone species can have a cascading influence on entire ecosystems. Coral reefs are particularly vulnerable to the combined effects of ocean warming and acidification because they sustain some of the highest concentrations of life on the plan. Coral bleaching episodes are becoming more frequent and severe, putting entire reef ecosystems in jeopardy and severely affecting marine biodiversity in addition to the millions of people whose livelihood depend on reefs.
