Memory & Learning

Understanding how memory works, its types, and factors affecting learning performance

How Memory Works

Memory works through three main processes: encoding, storage, and retrieval. These processes explain how information enters the brain, how it is kept, and how it is recalled later.

  1. Encoding :Breaks down information in a way that it is stored by the brain.
Encoding is enhanced by understanding and attention.
  2. Storage :Remembers information with time.
    Experience aids in memorizing.
  3. Retrieval : When necessary, information was stored in recalls.
The memory is aided through cues and environment.
